The Show’s a winner

Over 2500 people attended the Horticultural Show and Charity Fun Weekend at All-In-One Garden Centre on 16th and 17th August 2008 and a great weekend was had by all, even the staff got into the spirit of the weekend and had their faces painted.

Slattocks & District Horticultural Society won the £200 first prize, second place was won by Milnrow Horticultural Society and Ramsbottom & District came third, the prizes were presented by Stuart Brierley from Groundwork.

The charity stalls which included face painting badge & mask making and seed planting were hosted by Groundwork Rochdale and Oldham provided. In total, over £200 was raised during the weekend, which will be used to improve sites within the local communities.

This was the very first show to be held and Nora Williams, one of the show judges commented “This has been a very well organised and attended show, I can’t wait to see how many exhibitors will enter next year…this is the start of something big!”
